Austin Holcomb b. 7 Nov 1822 (We are thinking Ohio)
married 18 Oct 1844 (Colebrook Ohio) to Elizabeth Russell. Died 18 Oct 1844 and buried in Wayne Center Cemetery next to Elizabeth, Flavius (son), and Albert Edwin (son).
Our line comes from Charles Holcomb son of Austin who married Charlotte (Lottie) Way. The other 3 children we have the following information.
1)Albert Edwin, died at 1 yr old 1850.
2)Flavius Reuben, died 17 yrs old 1865. We don't know how Flavius died.
3)Finetta (Nettie) Married Milo Wilcox 2 Mar 1872. Finetta died 4 Aug 1900.
I have been to Geneva OH to the library and Austin stands out all by himself when looking at all the Holcomb families. The note states that Austin possibly came from the Conn. line of Holcombs, but every census states that he was born in Ohio. Does anyone have a connection?
I was able to find more information onhis wife Elizabeth (Russell) Holcomb. Parents were Reuben and Elizabeth Russell. Both are buried in Wayne Center Cemetery. Elizabeth (Russell) Holcomb had one brother, Judson Russell. I have no information on Judson. Any connection or information from the Russell side or the Austin Holcomb that could give us any additional information on Austin would be greatly appreciated. He just seems to be a mystery at this point. Thank you in advance.
