I don't know of any link to that hotel or dorm named for Meekers, but it's very possible. There are several towns and a couple of counties named Meeker as well as many streets around the United States named Meeker. The last time I checked there were still several dozen Meeker families living in Ohio.

My Meekers were in Ashtabulah and Geauga counties in the early 1800s and then moved on to Indiana about 1830s or 1840s. William and Robert Meeker, two brothers, came to Fairfield, Connecticut about 1640 and as far as I know all of the Meekers in the USA are their descendants (but sometimes all of the links are hard to find).
