Dr. Luther Spellman (Spelman) buried at the West Williamsfield Cemetery is my great, great, great grandfather. We are all descendants of Richard Spellman who came to Danbury, CT, from England. Our Spelman (Spellman) Genealogy was printed in 1910.The financial backing for the work was done by Mrs. John D. Rockefeller who was Laura Celestia Spellman, a school teacher from Akron, Ohio, when she met John D. and married him. She, he and her parents are buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio, in what is known as Millionaires Row.They lived on Euclid Avenue in 1890, which was the richest street in the world at that time, along with many other millionaires who are now all buried together in that same cemetery. She had her cousin do the research; it was finished when her cousin died.It traces our lineage back to Sir William Espielman from England circ. 1124.If anyone would like further information on the Spellman lineage, please contact me.I have quite a bit of information on my own webpage through MyFamily.com and also in Family Treemaker.MyFamily.com is only accessible to anyone who is a blood relative and has to be invited by me to visit the site; once I have invited them, they would receive a password and would have access to this site on a regular basis. When any new information is posted to the site, members are automatically notified of such.
