Hi, you posted on GENFORUM that you found a picture of the Charles Allison family of Lima, Ohio among your grandmother's things. My Allison family was from Lima, Ohio. My ancestor, Alexander Allison Sr. and his brother Matthew Allison moved to Allen County, Ohio around 1827 from Pennsylvania. Matthew Allison had several grandsons and great-grandsons named Charles Allison (all born around 1880-1900 - I have a bit more info on them if you are interested) and I have to wonder if one of them might be this Charles Allison. We have never been able to pinpoint where in Pennsylvania our Allisons came from. We know that both Alexander Sr. (born ca 1785) and Matthew(born ca 1800) were born in Pennsylvania, but have been unable to determine their parentage. Supposedly their parents were born in Ireland and were Scotch-Irish. Many of the Allisons moved to Missouri and Kansas, but quite a few remained in Allen County - most of Matthew's clan remained there. Many of Alexander's daughters married and remained in Allen County. Can you tell me anything about your Allison family from there? What county in Pennsylvania did they come from? I am grasping at straws and when I saw that an Allison from Pennsylvania had family in Allen County, Ohio, I thought perhaps this might be the link I have been looking for.
