I have been trying to find information on my biological grandfather whom I have never met and who is now deceased. My father's name is Larry Roger Stemen (who is now 59) and his father's name was Woodie Stemen who was married to Maxine Vermillion (although I don't know if they were really married, I heard he left my grandmother when he found out she was pregnant with my Dad) he was a carnie in the circus and traveled the country. I don't know much of the Stemen name or family and wanted some information.

I read some interesting history that a Henry Stemen founded Allen County back in the 1800's and was a preacher. I believe I read that there is a Stemen Family bible in Allen Co. I still have family that lives there (Lima).

I'm in Texas now; been here over 14 years, can't say I miss Ohio much -too cold and too much snow, I'd rather take 6 months of hot weather than 8 months of cold.

Maybe someone else will read this and know of my grandfather. I don't think he was a very nice man, but any information at all would be appreciated.
