Thanks Donna for the information. I have never seen Zachariah's grave but a friend of mine who was driving through Adams county did and asked me to try and find out something about his family and why he was buried close to the road. I did find that he was on his way home to Ky with a group of soldiers during the War of 1812 and died for an unknown reason and his comrades buried him in that location. Maybe eventually we'll find out where his home was and something about his family. Thanks for letting me know about the location and how you remember him each year. You must be a very caring person.
