Sandy Lewis and others have the first wife as Elizabeth "Betsy" Wasson, but I have no idea what the source for that is. ZT Lewis? I have major doubts about that one--she certainly wasn't the Elizabeth Wasson often listed--that one married a Hartley and died in VA 1834. The 1777 deed in Chester PA clearly says Philip the younger's wife then was Esther.
The marriage record in Scioto for Philip and Elizabeth McBride does list her as "widow." Sandy Lewis and others have her as nee Anderson--but again, I do not know the source for that claim. A lot of work remains to be done on our Lewises--spouses, parents--a lot of blanks and errors in Philip's history--both Philips!
