Hi all, I have spent most of my day reading through all these interesting posts. Lots of great info this family has! Thanks to all the researchers for all their hard work. My question is, are there any documents or books with “correct” proven lineages that I can access either online or at a local library (Guilford County, NC is where I am), that list the line of descent from John Sr., the Revolutionary War fellow, and his service info? My husband is interested in joining the SAR, and I have most of his line documented, except for the last 2 generations. My husband descends from Thomas OGLETREE (1809 – c1880) and Nemesis BENNETT (1805 – 1861). I have Absalom OGLETREE (1778 – 1846) and Elender GRAY (1780 – 1850) as Thomas’s parents, but no documentation. This is strictly from other folks research. For Absalom I have the Revolutionary War fellow, John OGLETREE (c1735 – 1822). Again, no documentation. I have 3 wives listed, but not sure which one is the mother of Absalom. I can tell from the boards that the consensus is that Ann Duncan couldn’t have been a wife of John’s, but I’m still not clear about the mom of Absalom. My son in law has several ARW ancestors and my husband is excited about joining the SAR with him. Our grandkids are in the process of joining the NSCAR, so it will be a big family affair for us. If anyone has any source info or documentation they could share, or if you can point me in the right direction to collect the info myself, it would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks, Ingrid Notify Administrator about this message?
