Peg I don't believe Turner was the son of our John Ogletree, the first time Turner Ogletree shows up is on the 1850 census of Fayette county living near other Ogletree's which were descendants of Absalom Ogletree, Turner then completely disappears from Georgia records, did he really disappear or did he move to another place? On the 1850 census Turner Ogletree was living with John Barge, this John Barge moved to Arkansas and was living there in 1860,my conclusion is that Turner Ogletree also moved to Arkansas with John Barge and is the same individual as William Turner Ogletree, this William T. Ogletree was married to Susan Cook in Spalding county GA on May 27 1855 and fought for the Confederacy in Arkansas and died in the war. Shown below is the service record of William T. Ogletree, his widow was listed as Susan Ogletree and her address as Monticello Arkansas,William had a son named Absalom T. Ogletree who moved from Arkansas to Jefferson county Alabama,he died in 1944 in Cullman county Alabama.I believe that William T. Ogletree was the son of Samuel Ogletree and Bathsheba Starr and the grandson of Absalom Ogletree and Eleanor Gray. William T. Ogletree Private: Enlisted in Company H, 3rd Arkansas Infantry at Tyro Arkansas March 7, 1862; died of disease at Fredericksburg, Virginia, December 28, 1862. Notify Administrator about this message?
