I have the cd of K.C. Ptomey's book and the only reference I find to John Ogletree, Sr. and the Revolutionary War is a quote as follows:

"Abstracts of Minutes of Caswell County Court and Pleas and quarter Sessions, Sept. 1777." John Ogletree, Capt. of patrolers in Joshiah Cole's company, St. Lawrence District." Katherine Kerr Kendall (conp), Caswell County 1777-1877, historical Abstracts of Minutes of Caswell County, North Carolina. (Wendell, N.C.: roadfoot's bookmark, 1877) p 8.

By the way, in reading my earlier message about my ancestors, I see that I listed my grandfather as James Pleasant Turner. It is James Pleasant Ogletree, son of Pleasant Turner Ogletree. My Ogletree line is from John Sr. through sons, grandsons, etc. all down the male Ogletrees.
