Peggy,
I too am a decendant of John Sr. by way of Littleton, Asbury, Benjamin Sr. and Benjamin Jr (who was my dad). Like you I'm not that interested in the DAR membership but would love to know more about the revolutionary war aspect. I am a teacher and will be teaching 4th grade this year and part of our curriculum is on the American Revolution. How cool to be able to reference an ancestor. Most of the posts I have read say only that he aided in the war, but DAR lists his rank as CS ( I assume the rankings were different then as in the Civil War) I presumed Corparal Second Class (?) but have no idea. If you find out more please let me know.
Thanks!
Denise
