Can anyone help me please? I am trying to find out what genealogical
relationship exists between DR. OWEN OGLETHORPE (BISHOP OF CARLISLE)
AND GENERAL JAMES EDWARD OGLETHORPE (COLONIZER OF GEORGIA, USA):

Desperately seeking information regarding the DECENDANTS and / or
SIBLINGS of DR. OWEN OGLETHORPE:

DR. OWEN OGLETHORPE:
1. (Born in Parish village of Newton Kyme in Yorkshire)(Died: 31
December 1559)
2. President of Oxford University's Magdelen College 1535 - 1552
3. Bishop ("Marian") of Carlisle between 1557 - 1559 [Chosen by Queen
Mary]
4. Dean of Windsor [Chosen by Queen Mary]
5. Founder of the Tadcaster Grammar School in 1557 at York
6. Crowned Queen Elizabeth I
7. Imprisoned by Queen Elizabeth I as religious martyr
8. Died while imprisoned by Queen Elizabeth

GENERAL JAMES EDWARD OGLETHORPE:
1. Born into about a fifth generation of Olgethorpes AFTER Dr. Owen's
2. Sent by King to colonize Georgia, USA
3. Was married but had no descendants!
4. His sister married into numerous european royal line from which
several Italian kings directly descended.

Any information that could help me to understand the genealogical
relationship between the two would be most greatly appreciated.

Thanking everyone in advance,

James P. Ragsdale, Jr.
