Your William Howard Oglesby appears to be the William Oglesby enumerated in the 1880 Rutherford Co., Tennessee census, age 8, son of Franklin A. "Frank" Oglesby, son of Shadrack Oglesby, son of Micajah Oglesby. His father Frank lived for a time in Murray & Whitfield Cos., Georgia.
William H. had the following siblings, all younger:Charles Clinton "Clint" Oglesby (1874); Joseph Oglesby [abt 1878); Robert Franklin Oglesby (1882); Sam Oglesby (1886); Jeff Overall Oglesby (1889); and John Childers Oglesby (1891).There were also 2 other children born/died between 1880 and 1900, according to the 1900 census, which states Fannie had 9 children, 6 living
As you state, W. H. and wife Fannie are in the 1900 Lamar Co., Texas census; in 1910 they are in Greer Co., Oklahoma, as are Clint and his wife Susie.By 1920 Clint is still living in Oklahoma; Susie appears to have died; and their children are once again in Tennessee, living with grandfather W. J. Owen.
Hope this puts an end to one of your mysteries!
