Jean Ogilvy (1762-1818)

Can anyone help me out? I have Jean Ogilvy (1762-1818), wife of Walter Ogilvy (1733-1819), as the daughter of John Ogilvy, MD, and Margaret Ogilvy; John as son of Walter Ogilvy, and Walter as son of James Ogilvy (c.1430-c.1503), the 1st Earl Ogilvy of Airlie and Ambassador to Denmark, and Elene Douglas (d.o.d. 20 Nov 1486)...but that means that James (1st Earl) was about 330 years older than his great-granddaughter Jean, meaning the average age of members of this line was over 100 when the next in line was born, so obviously i am missing a few generations. would appreciate any assistance.
