I am also trying to find information on william oglivie.
{information from a Dawson family bible}
william dawson was born on church st in charleston,sc on 7/15/1806. he married lady jane oglivie (born 8/1/1820 - in scotland) on 8/12/1842 at #25 Albany St in Edingburg by the Rec Dr.Miur of St Stephens Church. Jane was born in Scotland and was the second daughter of the late Sir William Oglivie, Baronet of Carnousie.
I also have a picture of a Oglivie Coat of Arms that came from from the original and on the back it states that it was given to jane oglivie dawson while she was visiting her brother, sir william oglivie at his resident in Brompton near London in 1853. the coat of arms was given to him by his father, william oglivie
