There were other Oggs in Fayette County that do not seem to be related to this family of Oggs (research of Jim Ogg can still be found different places online - he is now deceased - including DNA research) It's been a long time since I researched this and I am writing from memory that doesn't seem to be recalling this so easily at the moment. Oggs early 1800's Fayette/Somerset George, Veechel, Joshua, William. George & Veechel were brothers stayed in the area for a while, married sisters, and moved on to Ohio. George (I think he was a brother too, but may have been cousin) stayed in the area and can be followed in the census in that area. Joshua, I think was a son of one of the other three. Anyway, many Ogg researchers do not think Sewickley township Oggs are part of this family (very well documented by research of James Ogg). And my research (family bibles, family tradition & historical records) have not made any connection to this larger pocket of Oggs very prevelent in Fayette County. How do you know your Harriet Ogg is from Sewickley Township?
