OGG-RILEY-McCARTY connection? Late 1700s-1860s in Morgan Co., OH
I am trying to find the connection of the OGG family to my RILEY family because I want to locate the parents and siblings of my husband's many-g-grandmother, Louisa RILEY.Louisa married Richard O. McCarty in Morgan Co., OH in 1832.From 1850 and 1860 census records for Meigsville Twp. in Morgan County, we know that Louisa was born about 1815.A Hugh RILEY was appointed administrator of the estate of Vachel OGG IN 1826.He was probably the stepson, as Vachel Ogg's second wife was Jane Goodin Riley, widow of Richard Riley. There were apparently five children from her marriage to Richard Riley that Jane brought to the merged family. Then, in his will, made and probated in 1861, Joseph McCARTY names a sister, Jane Riley, and a brother, Richard McCARTY.I am guessing that this is another Jane RILEY and I haven't found all the connections yet. However, all of these events took place in Morgan County, Ohio, in the same timeframe, so I believe these people are all related, however complicated that may be.Can anyone enlighten me?
