Michele Thanks for responding on 16 November re Hopkins/Ogden. I have the idea that it is OGDENs who interest you primarily, not HOPKINSes, whereas I am researching the latter. Your message fits with what I already have EXCEPT THAT there is a widespread (and small) error that Martin Edward Hopkins was born in 1786. In fact he was born in 1788; I have seen the parish records. This little error turns up a lot in the work of those interested in the family of the poet Gerard Manley Hopkins. Are you Canadian or US?
