RE: > THE ENGLISH ANCESTORS AS SHOWN IN THE BOOK "OGDEN FAMILY IN AMERICA"BY WILLIAM OGDEN WHEELER.THE INFORMATION REGARDING THE ANCESTRY IN ENGLAND PRIOR TO COMING TO AMERICA IS FRAUDULENT.(SEE MY POST #2845 ON THIS FORUM)... That's very interesting - and I believe it. The info. I have came to my mother-in-law (now 97) maybe 30-40 years ago from someone who had either hired a professional genealogist or got it from someone who did (she was definitely not online and never participated in any email or family history forums) - but I have tended to distrust such sources. That's one of the reasons I didn't include details after a certain point. I will definitely go search for your Post #1845 shortly. Should I accept the "Jonathan John Ogden" and wives "Martha Robert" and "Mariah Collins" as being in the realm of possibility? It's that last connection or two that I'm looking for in particular - Robert Ogden's parents and siblings, date/place of birth - and was hoping that at least that end of things was correct since I have portions of it from a different set of notes. > ...Smith Prentice Ogden (d. Jackson MS) - son of Daniel Webster Ogden, b. 1837, d.ca. 1890, who was half-brother to William T. Ogden’s father, Robert T. Ogden. Daniel’s parents were Jonathan John Ogden & Mariah Collins (the 2nd wife) - and, Robert T. was born to the same father and his first wife, Martha Robert. > I really thank you for your time and attention - and will see if there's anyway I can follow up on the names you mentioned from the census. Thanks, again... Nancy Notify Administrator about this message?
