Caleb Smith Ogden, Waupaca, Wis. and Francis A. Ogden, d. 1915, Houston, Texas

Hello -

Can anyone fill me in on Francis A. Ogden, d. 1915, Houston, Texas, whom I believe was a brother of Judge Caleb Smith Ogden of Waupaca, Wis.? I know "Great Uncle Frank" (as my family called him) never married and died in 1915 in Houston, Texas. Fortunately for all of his blood relations and descendants, he left an estate estimated at $12,000,000. However, no valid will was found. Apparently, from a news article from the Sept. 30, 1915 Waupaca REPUBLICAN POST, there were 3 different wills proferred, but none were found valid. I don't have any other info on Francis A. Ogden (no birth info or anything else.) I do know he owned land on Capitol Square in Madison, Wis. (the state capital) and oil interests in Texas.

Thank you,
Jean E. DeLauche
(a descendant of Sarah A. Ogden Knight, a daughter of Judge Caleb S. Ogden)

P.S. My brother, cousins and I have always been grateful to Great Uncle Frank, as some of his estate helped pay for our college educations!
