Linda - thanks for your note.I have found no further proof of James, John, and Littleberry's parents.All information I have is for John Ogburn and Selah Tomlinson as parents. Sources are:
Rubyn Reynolds Ogburn's book:"As I Was Told";
Fielding Ogburn's book:"A Collection of Genealogical Information About The Ogburn Family in USA",(1980).
Robert Ogburn's book: Oh, I can't think of the title - something like "Ogburns of North Carolina"
They all lists the generatons back to Symon Ogbourne who was the immigrant ancestor.Do you have this information?If not I will be glad to type it out for you.
Please keep me on your email list and if you find any [email protected]
I did an extensive study of the Ogburns for "National Society of Colonial Dames of the XVII Century."Mailed it off a year ago and have not heard back.This was my second mailing of ancestral information.The genealogist there questioned James being the son of John.Since their responce has been so long in being received, I surpose they are going to deny it again.We will see.Can't get there without trying.
Have never read any reference to any Native heritage.There have been Littleberry and Greenberry names for some 4-5 generations.
Most sincerely-Ethel Ogburn Scott Mitchell
