My GGG-father was a Bartholomew O'Gara (born 1797) and son, also named Bartholomew (born 1844), from Co. Sligo, Ireland.
From what my research shows, it has been difficult at best to find anything on any Bartholomew O'Gara, from Ireland or otherwise.
If you find a connection somewhere with your research that puts your ancestor in Ireland or Co. Sligo, please let me know.
