Have located a death certificate for John Columbus Offitt, who died in Adams, Champaign County, OH on 12/30/1933. Lists wife as Margaret Ann Offitt. However informants signature appears to be Margaret Offutt (Note spelling). In addition, in my genealogy research of the Offutt Family I have a Jonathan Columbus Offutt, born on the same day given for this "Offitt". Also, an online index of obituaries for Champaign County has a Margaret Ann Offutt listed as being printed 1/8/1948, which is after John C. Offitt's death. Would like to determine if the spellng on the Death Certificate is incorrect and this is in fact Jonathan Columbus Offutt.
