Dave, There seem to be three women named Hannah married to OFFUTT men in the Missouri census from 1860 to 1900. They are: a) Hannah E. MOREHEAD who married Lewis W. OFFUTT on 9 Aug 1857 (Holt Co) b) Hannah E. HERRIN who married Thomas OFFUTT on 14 Mar 1861 (Holt Co) c) Hannah E. --?-- who married Thomas OFFUTT about 1863 1860 Jackson, Andrew Co, MO Lewis Offett – 23, farmer, $300 real estate, b. MD Hannah Offett – 24, b. KY William Mohead – 50, shoemaker, $600 personal property, b. VA who may have been Hannah's father 1870 Benton, Holt Co, MO Hannah E. Offutt (36, b. KY) living with Henry OFFUTT, brother of Thomas (in 1880) and Lewis (in 1860). ...She is possibly the widow of Lewis OFFUTT who was not found after 1860. 1880, Holt Co, MO Thomas Ofut – 40, section boss, b. MD, father b. unknown, mother b. MD Hanah E Ofut – 37, wife, keeping house, b. KY, parents b. KY ...Living next to William Heran (59, gardener, b. KY, father b. NC, mother b. VA) and Rebeca Heran (62, wife, keeping house, b. OH, parents b. PA), who may have been Hannah's parents. ...They can't be the same as the next couple because they had no children and Thomas is the wrong age. 1900 census in St Joseph, MO: Thomas Offett – b. Oct 1821, 78, married 37 years, b. MD, parents b. MD, switchman-RR Hannah Offett – wife, b. Sep 1842, 57, 2 children 2 living, b. KY, parents b. KY Harry Offett – son, b. Sep 1868, 31, single, b. MO, father b. MD, mother b. KY, brakeman-RR Hannah Offett – daughter, b. Oct 1870, 29, single, b. MO, father b. MD, mother b. KY, dressmaker ...Likely the couple buried at Mt Mora Cemetery in St Joseph, MO, but the birth dates don't match with the cemetery dates for Thomas (25 Nov 1832) and Hannah (15 Dec 1843).
