I just posted a message for Gladys, now here is one for you.
Phebe Offill b. 1734 in Henry Co. VA. d. 27 Jun 1803 in Bedford Co. Va. and marr. Joseph Payne. I'll bet her b. date should read 1724, if she had a son Thomas b. in 1745.
Phebe is shown as d/o William Greenwood and William as s/o Sinah Greenwood. I wonder if Sinah might have been William's wife instead of his father, as Sinah is usually used as a women's name. And how did her name get from Greenwood to Offill?
Now here's something for you to figure out.
I found a marr. 18 Feb 1808 in Bedford Co. Va. for Thomas Payne and Mariah Greenwood, with William Greenwood as Surety, and consent of Sinah Greenwood. I see a couple generations between Phebe and this Thomas Payne and yet the same Greenwood names are there??? I think we need lots of help!
