My research to date in NE Scotland certainly indicates they were pretty much all ordinary working people who would have been more concerned about making ends meet and putting food on the table than lording it about with coats of arms etc! Indeed, if you do find one then I suspect someone has made it up to con naive transatlantic family historians out of a dollar or two! Best wishes anyway Notify Administrator about this message?
