The name Wilhelmina Oehlke in your earlier posting caught my eye. My greatgrandmother's married name was Wilhemana Oehlke -- and she too lived in Milwaukee before moving across the lake to Manistee. On the off chance that there's some connection, here's what I have: Gustaf Oehlke (b. Germany ?-1928 d. Manistee) Wilhemana Bruman (b. Germany 1871-1935 d.Mansitee) They had 7 childen Louise, Charles, Hildegard, Otto, Robert, Emil, and Henry. Charles was my grandfather (b. Milwaukee 1894-1966 d. Petoskey, MI) I'm not sure when the family moved to Manistee. I have the married names of two of Wilhemena's sisters from her obituary: Mrs. Olga Ronan and Mrs. August Ronan A Manistee newspaper article listing Fred Elke -- with a note that this was Charles' cousin. A wedding announcement for Miss Elizabeth Oehlke -- with a note that this was Charles' second cousin. The change in spelling from Oehlke to Oelke seems to be common. My father and uncle dropped the "h" about 50 years ago -- my grandparents continued to use the "h". If these match up with anything you have, please contact me. Thanks.
