Is your family from Switzerland or Germany?

I know that the Oeler (Oehler) name was changed for the Swiss Oelers from about 1880 until 1908. My dad always told me that our name had originally been Oehler, as told to him by his father before his father came to America. I have documented this in my search for knowledge. If you are from Switzerland, let me know if you need more information.
