I have some information on my mother's side which is from the Oehler family line.
Louis Oehler came over in late 1856 with five siblings - Paul, Cornelius, and sisters Franziska, Magdalena and Katherine. They originated from the Grand Duchy of Baden of Germany - - a village called Nordrach along the Nordrach river in the district of Gengenbach on the western edge of the Black Forest - 30 miles northeast of Freiberg.

In America - the Oehlers were sometimes referred to as Ehler.

Let me know if you have any relation or information to this line of the Oehlers.

~Dee
