In about 1920, a German newspaper wrote a section in the newspaper about our family's history back to about 1500AD because it was 100 years after the town leader's died. I found that newspaper and had it translated into English. My original copy burned in a house fire but I made copies before the fire. I have verified the newspaper back to people in Germany.
My wife's name is Jane and she is the local Regent (president) of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution).
My sons names are David William Oehler and Paul Edwin Oehler and we all graduated from The University of Texas at Austin.
Hookum Horns
My grandfather's name was C. Guido Oehler and he is mentioned in the document noted but it doesen't note when he came over, where, or on what boat. I would like to find this information.
When I was in Germany a few years ago, I didn't have time to visit my family town.
