My slave ancestor Caroline (GGG-Grandmother)was born abt. 1814 GA, and her last name was ODAM/ODOM no "s". May have been the name of her husband or hers or the both of their last owners. I have not researched that far back. Caroline was age 66 and widowed on the 1880 Census of Jasper County, GA living with Silas and Ella MOORE (my GG-Grandparents). Ella was her daughter. And looking through the rootsweb archive search engine for GA, I have seen more than a few Black's with the spelling ODOM,ODAM and ODUM.....
