My ex-husband's father was Henry Grady Odom. It was said that he was full Cherokee and he definitely was mostly, if not all Native American. As to whether the name itself is Cherokee I don't know. There were definitely Cherokees with the last name of Odom in the early Eastern Cherokee rolls. If anyone knows anything about Henry Grady Odom, who was about 30 years old or so in 1951 and was said to have been an electrical engineer from Florida, please let me know. Or if you know of descendants of the Odoms in the early Eastern Cherokee rolls I would also like to know.
