The 1880 census shows Louis as 76 which would agree with the 1804 birth year and the 1860 census shows him as 56. I can't figure out the discrepancy in birth years. After Christmas, we're making a trip to Springfield MO to try and locate his grave. Hoping that will clear some things up.

As far as Elizabeth, I don't have anything but will let you know if something comes up.

Also, Louis's civil war records shows him as 44 in 1864 which would relate to the 1820 birth year. I'm wondering if there are more than one Louis or if he lied about his age when signing up.
