I have an Elizabeth Jane Peeples b. abt. 1828, daughter of William H. Peeples and Jane Harrod. William was born in South Carolina and settled in Plantersville, Alabama.

Elizabeth Jane married John Oden (b. 1923) on September 05, 1844 in Perry County, Alabama. They moved to an area between Sylacauga and Childersburg, Alabama now known as Odena, after John Oden (known as "Piney"), who had extensive land holdings in the area. Elizabeth Jane died bef. 1855 and John died 1895.

They had two children Elizabeth and William Peeples Oden. William Peeples served in the state legislature.

I believe John remarried and had at least one more son, but cannot put my finger on that information. You might get more info by doing a Google search on "John Piney Oden"
