Carol, my records show that Elisha Brace married Marian Smith on October 7, 1861 at Yankee Settlement, Delaware, IA. Marian was born 1841 in Scotland and died 1931 in Fally Ford, Spokane, WA.

Elisha lived in Calhoun County, MI in 1950; Delaware, Colony, IA in 1860; Polk, Minnesota in 1880 and Pilot Grove, Montgomery, IA in 1885.

I also show Elisha's children as Nathaniel or Nathan Alvin b: 9/2/1862; Wallace Sherman b: 12/28/1864; Robert Franklin b:1/25/1869; John Clinton b: 1871; Minnie S. b:1874; Charles E. b: 1876; and Ida May b: 1878. Does this sound right to you.

Our common ancestor was Augustine b: 1740 and wife Molly who had sons Jacob b: 1764 and Augustine b: 1776. You descend from Augustine and I descend from Jacob.

Augustine had Nathaniel b: 1816, who had Elisha b: 1838.

Jacob had a son named James B. b: 1792; who had a son Palmer b: 1816; who had a son James b: 1844; who had a son Reuben Jacob b: 1871; who had a son P. James b: 1900 who had me b: 1942.

According to Ancestry.com, your great grandfather Elisha would be my second cousin, four times removed. Blood but not very close.

I will continue to research and let you know if I find anything else. The O'Dells are a very big family; my grandfather was one of 13 and my father one of 9 and mostly boys.
