In continuing research I have found more information on E. F. Odell and a little more on Charles. E. F. Odell was a law officer in Flagstaff in 1887 when he participated in an action to apprehend the murderers of Hamp Blevins and John Payne at the Middleton Ranch in one of the early events of the Pleasant Valley War. He along with deputies John Francis, John Weathford and Fletcher Fairchild met Yavapai County Sheriff Billy Mulvenon along with deputies Mike Hickey and E. M. Tackett in Payson before going on to Young, Arizona. They spent ten days in the Pleasant Valley area trying to sort out what happened and left back for Flagstaff without figuring out who was responsible. A few weeks later the posse returned and pursued and killed John Graham and Charles Blevins during a shootout at Perkins Store in Young, Arizona and arrested Al Rose, a Mexican with the Tewksburys named Miguel and Ed and Jim Tewksburry. As Constible E. F. Odell also participated in a man hunt in the Stoneman lake area along with Sheriff Francis where they got their men. Unfortuately E. F. Odell committed suicide in Flagstaff on March 29th, 1893. I have found his death certificate at http://genealogy.az.gov/azdeath/001/10010112.pdf Still looking for information on Charles Odell, Pioneer sheepman and investor in Flagsaff. I have found birth certificates for the children of Clinton Odell who was reported as born in Flagstaff around the turn on the century. I suppose this might have been a son of Charles.
