Peg: A message sent to your email address listed was returned. Don't know whether this tidbit of info is of use to you or not but this is what I sent: A James Raymond b 1786 at Riverdale co Kerry, Ireland d 1851 Sidney NSW m Aphrasia Odell b abt 1789 co limerick Ireland d 1848 Orwell, Sudney NSW m at Ballingary co Limerick 1807. Had son William Odell Raymond. Aphrasia traces back to William Odell b abt 1667 co Limerick who m Anne Hunt. William's father, Major John Odell went to Ireland in mid 1600's from Bedfordshire, England Bob McLaughlin, who contacted me on your suggestion, mentioned that there is a story that some Odells came to England from France. There was some emigration of Hugenots from France to England and elsewhere after 1685. The Barony of Wahull credits its name from Woad Hill in Bedfordshire. The history of the barony, after its takeover from the English Lord Leavenot by Walter de Flandresis (Walter the Fleming) in 1066 is documented in "the Victoria Histories of the Counties of England - Bedfordshire volumes". These references are likely available in University libraries where there is a strong English History curriculum. Notify Administrator about this message?
