Monica,
I found this in a quick search on Google....I put in < Odar origin >....w/o the carots.....There were alot of hits...I like this theory * as the Isle of Wight connection locates....'Odar- pale faced'....Of course, as you know, to be sure of YOUR origin you should start from yourself and go backwards...It's a fascinatihg journey that will never end for you...What could be more interesting to you than yourself and by extention your ancestors....Are you dec'd from St Odhrain???....
" * CORRIN and CORRAN, contracted from Mac Odhrain (contracted Oran,) 'Odhran's son,' (Odar, pale faced.') St. Patrick's charioteer was called ST. ODHRAN.
'ODHRAN, his charioteer, without blemish,' A.D. 447.ยง
Compare (Gaelic) MAC ORAN. "
.....For your entertainment and education only...later.
LNU,
Aubrey
