Thanks for your quick reply. Most of the info I have for my Denis O'CONNOR is after he emmigrated from Ireland which was in 1857 according to either the 1900 or 1910 Buffalo, NY census.Family tradition says he was from County Cork and according to his death certificate, his parents were David and Mary (CASEY) O'CONNOR.I believe his mother emmigrated from Ireland, also as there is are two Mary O'CONNOR'S buried in the family plot. One is his wife, Mary DALY/DALEY O'CONNOR and the other appears to fit the time frame to be his mother. He served briefly in the Civil War with the 155th NY Inf., Co. I, but apparently was will after he left Buffalo, spent time in a hospital in Virginia and received a medical discharge. As I said in my previous e-mail, my mother's sister, one of his granddaughters, told me he was a "Professor" in Ireland, meaning he was a teacher. The fact that he didn't emmigrate during the Famine years, but later, makes me think he must have been working at something before he left Ireland.Hope to hear from you soon.Any information you can provide me with will be appreciated.
