Dear Patricia,
I am trying to find anything on my great-grandfather Phillip O'Connor.I have found him and his wife Johanna Conner O'Connor in the 1900 and 1910 Census in Texas .Yesterday I went looking in the Ship Passenger Lists at:
istg.rootsweb.com/index2.html.
I wrote down all the O'Connor and Connor names I found, because I do not know if he came from Ireland by himself or with other family members. We know of him in MO, TX OK. He died in TX. I have several Mary O'Connor names for you that I hope helps you. Here they are:
133 Mary A. O'Connor age 24 servant on RMS Abyssinia 4/22/1872
415 Mary O'Connor age 19 on City of Berlin 4/29/1878
301 Mary O'Conner age 21 on SS City of New York 5/19/1880 Page 2 of 4
345 Mary O'Connor age 21 on SS City of New York 5/19/1880Page 2 of 4
414 May O'Connor age 17 on SS Erin 5/20/1880 Page 2 of 4 (note the spelling MAY)
I also found some Mary Connor's. I don't think I searched any ships earlier than 1840 and later than 1880. They are transcribing ship lists all the time so the ships listed are not all the ships that came in to ports. You would find those other ships at genealogy libraries such as the Will Clayton Library here in Houston, TX. That is where I am going to go look at the actual pages and see if I can find other info listed there.
If you see any info on any Phillip O'Connor b Feb 1853 in Irel. and d. Feb 8, 1837 at Corsicana, TX.( we think his first name is James)or
Johanna Conner(or) b. Aug. 25, 1855 in KY and d. July 11, 1933 at Corsicana, TX.
please let me know.
I hope this will help you find Mary.
Dale Crutcher Parsons
great-great-granddaughter to (James?) Phillip O'Connor
