Ackerman (Akkerman) is a name that exists in the Netherlands. I don't think it is a misspelling of Ockerman since Ackerman means something like 'plough man'. Ockerman or Okkerman has no comparable meaning.
Okkerman is the Dutch spelling of the German Ockermann. I think Ockerman is the English version, since mann (in German) means man (in Enlish and Dutch).
The name Okkerman exists in the Netherlands, although it is a rare name, I also found it in Norway (through the net).
