Well, its my personal opinion that there is a link, either through marriage or something like that with the Campbell's. There is too much data to back it up.

I just think that the later Ochiltree family, the one referred to as "poor relations" by Thomas Stuart (historical book on the family) and also the Clan Stewart Magazine, that we could possibly come from that lineage. No matter the others that Dan and others have pointed out. There is no proof to back it up, that we DO descend or are related to them. A DNA test would satisfy me...But I can't do it. Sigh.

I know one thing, its amazing to me that my 1JOHN OGLETREE did what he did, accomplished so much and was a patriot ...he was a mover and shaker in the Ogletree family. His parents have NEVER BEEN PROVEN. Who the family was in Hanover? Is NOT his, I would bet my house on it. Who are they? I have no idea. No one else does either, contrary to what they have claimed.

I am still seeking info on the 1THOMAS OGLETREE who witnessed the Campbell document in NC in 1773, he HAS to be the brother of 1JOHN, because he wasn't in Georgia records until much later. He is the ONLY one with the spelling of OGLETREE any where. Keep us posted.
