Hi,
My family is from Modica, Sicily and came to the US in the early 1900's. My great-grandmother came in 1908. The originally lived in NY but then relocated to Dunmore, Pa which is where quite a few still live. My great grandmother was Rosaria and I'm not sure of her maiden name. My great grandfather was Cataldo. My grandfather was born two months after she came through Ellis Island. From what I have studied so far most of the Occhipinti's originated in Ragusa, then some moved to other parts of Sicily. We also have some realtives that lived in San Cataldo, Sicily.
