Hi, my ancester's name is actually O'brien but the name is spelled so many different ways on the US census and I was getting nowhere trying to find out if he was born in the US or if he came to America from Ireland, so I decided to post all different ways. His name was Patrick O'Brien and he was granted land in Virginia in 1744. With him was a Mary, who was not his wife or child. I believe she was his sister. Good luck in your research and thank you for writing. Fran
