My G.G.-Grandmother was Catherine O'Brien from Ireland. I am seeking any information anyone may have about this O'Brien family line; who her parents where, where they came from in Ireland, etc. What I know about her is as follows:She was born 1823 somewhere in Ireland. She died in Gage Co. Nebraska 1921 and is buried at the Calvary Cemetery, Wymore, NE. In 1853, New York City, N.Y. she married Thomas Barry also of Ireland. (Locations unknown at this time.)We know that they migrated from N.Y. to PA, Ohio, St. Louis MO. and Pike Co. IL He served with the Company C, 99th Illinois Infantry in the Civil War. After that they settled in Gage Co. NE. where they raised their family and farmed till the end of their lives. Their children were John W., William H., Dennis, Tomas S., George D., Mary E.,Jane and James. William Henry was my Great-Grandfather and married Lettie McAllister, they settled along the republican river valley area on the Kansas/Nebraska border and had the following children: Lloyd Thomas, Shelby James, William McAllister, Alice Pearl, Velma Agnes Barry - Fuller, Anna Olive Barry-Stevens, George Y, Ralph Warren, Leland Hale and Catherine Barry-Hubbs. My Grandfather was Shelby James who was born in Daykin, NE and died Aug. 1940.
