Dorothy Juhl Ramert Obituary
"Dorothy "Dot" Ramert was born on March 18, 1892 in Greymount, IL to Hans and Christine Juhl.As a young girl, Dorothy moved with her family to Lime Creek, MN and in 1899 they moved to Fulda.Dorothy attended school in Fulda and graduated from Fulda High School in 1912.She attended Mankato State College for a year and then the Mankato Business College.Dorothy worked at Weisman Jewelry in Minneapolis from 1915 until 1928.In November, 1925 Dorothy married William E Ramert in Minneapolis.They moved back to Fulda in 1928.In 1934 they went into the beer distributing business, with Dorothy doing the bookkeeping and working as a cashier.They retired in 1956.Following William's death on November 13, 1970 Dorothy continued living in Fulda.Dorothy entered the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda on May 7, 1982 where she died on August 16, 1990 at the age of 98.She had been a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulda.She had also been a member of the Fulda American Legion Auxiliary since 1928.Dorothy enjoyed playing bridge and traveling.
Survivors incude several nieces and nephews, including Don Juhl of Cottonwood, MN.She was preceded in death by her husband, William, two brothers, Chris and Walter, a sister; Marie and a nephew; Donald Juhl.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fulda on Monday, August 20, 1990 at 11:00 am with Rev. Royce Leckband officiating.Organist was Irene Wahl.Soloist was A W Koopman.Pallbearers were Don Appel, Ervin F Haberman, Roland Miller, John Aukland, Bernard Ramert, and Donald Juhl.Interment was in the St. Gabriel's Catholic Cemetery, Fulda."
