Wow last post almost 10 years ago. I am from Pekin and can contribute a few things. I would really like to put this famiy tree together in a visual way for all to see. I am 52 years old. My grandparents on the Oberle side were William Oberle and Myrtle Hittle. They had I'll go through it 10 kids I believe. the Hittles were from the Mackinaw ,Il area 2 sisters grandma had and looks like 2 that died at birth.
I can't remeber grandpa Wills siblings except for Anna. Pretty sure there was a Henry and more. I knew Anna she was a sweet women who never married. I was in her house a couple times. I don't think she drove. I think her father's name was William oberle who lived to a ripe old age. Smaller frame man as I have been told.
So from the marriage of Myrt and Will there were these children: William who moved to New Jersey, Elaine, John, Art, Eilene, Margeret, Dorothy and one child who was lost in a fire.
My grandfather Will I never new was killed in an industrial accident at Standard Brands in Pekin ,Il.
Myrtle raised all those kids and never remaried. She worked in Bartenville at a mental home.
Bill was a genius of electrical engineering and died in his early 30's of heart failure he was a graduate of university of Illinois Champaign. They had 3 kids Judy, Will and damn I can't remember. he run's a printing business in jersey.
Elaine was married to Kenny Eubanks and had 2 kids Kay and Evonne (gussy)
Dorothy was married to Loran Seeley and had 3 boys and 1 girl. John, Joe, Jeff, and Janet. Jeff and I were very close growing up.
Eilene was married to Glenn Bernath and had 2 boys Rick and Rob. Rob is my age.
Art had daughters Aimee, Kathy, Janice, Carol, Jonee and a son Tom. Kathy is my age.
My dad John had 3 sons John Timothy, Joseph Daniel and myself James William.
Margeret married uncle Glenn many years after her sister Eileen had died. Uncle Glen is still alive and in his 80's what a great guy. Marg and grandma lived together all there life.
Who among us could do as good as Myrtle Hittle. They don't come like that anymore. I had great aunts and uncle's all of them leaders who would give you a kiss in the cheek if you needed it and a kick in the ass if you needed it.
The other little girl i never knew as an aunt caught fire while wearing a dress near the stove. She panicked and ran causing the dress to get more air. try as she might grandama could not get to her before it was too late.
You are in your 30's have 8 children to raise have watched your husband die of steam scalding and lost your daughter in a horrible way right in front of your eyes.
Myrtle never gave up and was active at St' Joseph's church Pekin, Il where she remained loyal to God to the very end.
