My search is somewhat off-topic, but perhaps someone can help.Upon the death of my great-grandfather Frederick Bradley around 1898, my great-grandmother Grace Law Bradley decided to move from Paterson, New Jersey, to Rhode Island (Providence, we think) to live with the Oberempt family. We don't know if they were relatives or friends from when the Bradleys lived in Cranston, RI, around 1880.
Incidentally, her mother's abrupt departure left my 16-year-old grandmother, Ida Bradley, on her own in Paterson.Great Grandma eventually returned, and spent her final years with my (forgiving!) then-married grandmother and her family (including my mother, Grace Law VanHassel).
Any leads to the RI Oberempts, so I can attempt to learn if we're related?Thanks!-- Gracelaw Simmons
