Presley O'Bannon family history
I am the managing editor of an online Irish history webmagazine called "The Wild Geese Today." www.thewildgeese.com
We are about to run an article about Presley O'Bannon, whom I'm sure many of you know is the Marine who won the battle against the Barbary Pirates that is celebrated in the Marine Corp hymn, i.e “to the shores of Tripoli.” I found some posts here, including a couple by a Frances Dilley in which she indicated she had information about his family history. I tried her email address from here, but it bounced. Does anyone here have a contact email for her? (I think that is usually a female form or the name, I apologize in advance if I’m wrong.) Or baring that, perhaps someone here has some good information on him? We’d like to do a sidebar that lets people know where in Ireland his family came from, and a little about who they were and when they came to the US. We’ll credit the person who gives us the information, and give them an email link in the story incase any one who reads the story might have some information to give.
