I'm looking for information about John and Harriett Oates from Bentley,near Doncaster, Yorkshire, England. They had two sons - John and Charles, and six daughters. John [the son] and Charles were tried in York in 1834 for stealing 7 sheep, Charles was sentenced to Van Diemen's Land as a convict. I don't know what happened to John the son - what his sentence was. John the Father was a butcher.
I'm wanting to know when John Oates and Harriett Brook [nee Oates] married and what their daughters names were and who their daughters might have married and what their children's names were.
I would love copies of any photos that someone might have.
